Seven films ranging from stylized tentpoles to independent features remain in competition for achievement in makeup for the 80th Annual Academy Awards.
The films are “The Diving Bell and the Butterfly,” “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix,” “La Vie en Rose,” “Norbit,” “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End,” “Sweeney Todd” and “300.”
On Jan. 19, the members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Makeup Branch will view 10-minute excerpts from each of the seven films. Following the screenings, members will vote to nominate three films for Oscar consideration.
Noms will be announced Jan. 22.
