Management company Silver Lining Entertainment has promoted Jason Shapiro to partner.
Shapiro has worked closely with Silver Lining founding partners Sam Maydew and Jeff Golenberg since 2011, when he joined their previous company, The Collective. Shapiro started his career in the representation business in 2000 at UTA, where he worked his way up from the mailroom to becoming an agent in the talent department (he spent nine years there before transitioning to management).
“Jason has made a major impact to the formation and thriving teamwork of this company, He’s an innovative strategist as well as great leader of the team,” Maydew and Golenberg said Monday in a statement.
Silver Lining also promoted Jonathan Knight to manager. Knight is a former London-based securities lawyer who has been with Silver Lining for three years.
Maydew and Golenberg started Silver Lining Entertainment in 2013 after they split from The Collective, which they founded along with Michael Green in 2005. The company’s clients include Vincent D’Onofrio, Katherine Waterston, Evangeline Lilly, John Leguizamo, Michael K. Williams, Jai Courtney, Wilmer Valderrama, Jeremy Piven, Jason Isaacs, Rosie Perez, Cat Deeley, Derek Hough, Katherine Heigl and Ramon Rodriguez as well as breakout star Katherine Langford (13 Reasons Why). Silver Lining also reps Hong Chau (Downsizing), Leila George (Mortal Engines) and Mike Colter, star of Netflix’s Luke Cage.
