The Beatles Revolution Lounge at the Mirage
*(Pass holder’s mixer) (June 12)
Created by Cirque du Soleil to complement their Beatles show “Love” at the Mirage, this 5,000 square-foot space welcomes visitors with the word “revolution” spelled out in 10-foot high letters. Inside, the ceiling is covered with 30,000 dichroic crystals designed to reflect light throughout the lounge, evoking The Beatles’ classic “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.” Guests can enjoy the light show pulsating above the Abbey Road Bar, which features “Yellow Submarine”-inspired portholes and black and white striped floor reminiscent of zebra crossing traversed by the group on the cover of their “Abbey Road” album, or create their own on the surface of the VIP tables, which are outfitted with an infrared technology that projects their tabletop doodles onto a central diamond-shaped column.
Mandalay Bay Beach
*Closing party/Vegas Magazine anniversary (June 16)
CineVegas’ closing party will be the opening event for this new $30-million-dollar expansion of the resort’s manmade seaside attraction, which now occupies a whopping 11 acres. Directly on the sand and just feet from the water sits a new three-story, climate-controlled, glass-fronted casino which allows guest to gamble in air-conditioned comfort while observing the surfside action. Outside, are beach and poolside day beds, hosting up to six guests, with televisions and safes. Those requiring more privacy and luxury can rent one of the five Villas Soleil on the third floor above the casino, which can accommodate up to 16 guests. Amenities include a wet bar, a 50-inch flat-screen television, a MP3 player, a changing area and a private deck overlooking the “beach.”

*”Ocean’s Thirteen” party (June 6), La Proxima Ola Party (June 9)
Located on the top floor of the Palms’ new Fantasy Tower, this exclusive boutique nightclub’s piece de resistance is a retractable roof that opens 35 feet above an illuminated dance floor. It also features an elaborate bar with an extensive wine list and a stock of top champagnes (e.g. Cristal, Dom Perignon) and other premium spirits, as well as two more intimate rooms that share a separate bar. A pair of dramatic staircases lead to the more exclusive mezzanine level that features a balcony with a spectacular view of the Las Vegas Strip below.
The Palms Pool
*Jackpot premieres party (June 8), Honoree reception (June 15)
Situated on two acres, the Palms’ new outdoor party destination features a pool with a sand beach surrounded by twenty-four ground floor and elevated cabanas with amenities that include a 32″ LCD TVs, a house phone, a safe and a refrigerator. It also boasts three two-story bungalows — replete with Jacuzzis, indoor-outdoor fireplaces, 42″ Plasma TVs, private bars, outdoor decks on both floors and second floor bedrooms with two double beds — that can be connected to create one mega, poolside residence. There’s also outdoor gaming, a DJ Booth for parties and concerts and a stage for live music, which doubles as a sun terrace.
Sky Villa at The Palms
*”Ocean’s Thirteen” VIP party (June 6)
While Danny Ocean’s less glamorous friends party in the adjacent Moon nightclub, the creme de la creme of his pallies will be granted admittance to this two-story, 9,000 square foot lair atop the Palms’ new Fantasy Tower. It’s unclear what is planned for the evening, but the suite’s swinging amenities include a revolving bed, a massage room, a personal glass elevator and balconies off the bedrooms with a spectacular view of the Vegas skyline.
The Tank at The Golden Nugget
*”The Grand” party (June 7)
Industry sharks at this party will be schmoozing next to five species the real thing (sandtiger, brown, Pacific blacktip, nurse and zebra sharks) — along with southern stingrays and a wide variety of large game fish — that populate the 200,000-gallon tank that sits at the center of the Nugget’s new $20 million three-story pool complex. If they get bored with the conversation, they can put on their trunks and take a trip down the three-story waterslide that goes through the center of the tank into the pool, or check into one of the seven private cabanas (outfitted with plasma televisions and refrigerators).
TAO Beach at The Venetian
*Hpnotiq/Pama party (June 10)
This 18,000-square-foot Asian-themed oasis (designed by Thomas Schoos Design) opened last month as an extension of The Venetian’s popular TAO Nightclub. During the day, guests can sip TAO-tinis and TAO-jitos at the 30-foot bar, order food provided by Wolfgang Puck Catering or lounge poolside on day beds or in one of seven luxury cabanas featuring such amenities as high definition plasma screen televisions with X-box gaming consoles, a DVD library, Internet access and customized mini bars. As night, it becomes an open-air nightclub featuring a floating dance floor, four 14-foot fire columns, strategically-placed beds and high energy music from resident DJs Reach and Omar Galleano.
