LONDON — Sony Pictures Home Entertainment said Monday it has appointed Andy Armstrong as U.K. managing director, effective Feb. 1.
Armstrong will report to Matt Brown, exective vp, SPHE Europe, the company said. He replaces the retiring Marek Antoniak, who has served as SPHE managing director here for 12 years.
For the past nine years, Armstrong has been SPHE marketing director and his elevation follows his move to the U.S. international team.
Brown said Armstrong’s knowledge of the U.K. market will “prove invaluable in sustaining the growth of our company for years to come.”
Added Armstrong: “The winds of change in our industry continue at pace and I am very excited about the opportunity to work with all our business partners to tackle the challenges ahead.”
