Producers Bruce Cohen and Don Mischer have begun to staff up for the 83rd Academy Awards by naming Steve Bass as production designer.
It’s the first time that Bass has worked on the Oscar show, but he has worked with Mischer before, winning Emmys for two of Mischer’s productions, “The Centennial Olympic Games: Opening Ceremonies” and the 47th annual Grammy Awards.
“I have collaborated with Steve several times, and he’s the perfect person for this year’s Oscars,” Mischer said. “He’s an innovative, creative talent who I know will do justice to the tradition and glamour of the Academy Awards.”
Bass most recently worked with Mischer on the 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards.
The 83rd Academy Awards will be broadcast live by ABC on Feb. 27 from the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland.
