AP ImagesSubway wants nothing to do with Jared Fogle. The former Subway spokesman appeared in court Wednesday to answer to charges of traveling to engage in illicit sexual conduct with a minor and the distribution and receipt of child pornography.
The company took to Facebook and Twitter Wednesday, saying, “Jared Fogle’s actions are inexcusable and do not represent our brand’s values. We had already ended our relationship with Jared.”

After news broke on Tuesday of Fogle’s expected guilty plea, Subway posted an initial message to its Facebook page to say it has cut all ties with the onetime face of the company.

The company made its latest statement after a press conference on the investigation, which unearthed that Fogle had victimized 14 children since 2007. His out-of-state activity was conducted during business travel, stated without distinguishing whether such was for the foundation or for Subway.
As part of the deal, Fogle will serve between five and 12 years in federal prison, followed by a period of supervised release. Under the deal, Fogle will pay $1.4 million in restitution to the 14 victims — $100,000 each for treatment, counseling and education. He will also be required to register as a sex offender and undergo treatment for sexual disorders.
