Terry Kalagian has been named vp, business development for Rainmaker Entertainment, the Vancouver-based animation company.
Kalagian, a veteran animation producer and development consultant, will focus her efforts on cross-platform distribution opportunities for Rainmaker’s original content, as well as work-for-hire projects and newly revived “ReBoot” properties.
She will report directly to Rainmaker president Catherine Winder, who announced the appointment along with CEO Warren Franklin.
Kalagian also will work closely on Rainmaker’s internal development slate with director of development Kimberly Dennison, who also reports to Winder. Dennison is responsible for finding and developing new projects for Rainmaker.
“ReBoot,” Rainmaker’s CG animated television series from the mid-1990s, is being revived through a series of feature length and short form projects.
Kalagian’s most recently headed up Kalagian Prods., consulting in production, development and research to such clients as Cartoon Network, Starz Media, Marvel, Mattel, Wild Brain and Blink Studios. Prior to that, she spent ten years with the Cartoon Network, first as vp of research and then as vp, programming, acquisitions and co-productions.
She also has a background in market research, having worked with Dimac Direct and affiliates of NBC and CBS.
