The Hollywood Reporter is launching THRintelligence, a customized data analysis service.
The business unit will service the growing demand for tailored data collection and extrapolation, drawing upon parent company Nielsen to provide quantitative and qualitative data to clients.
“THR recognizes the need for customized and actionable market information for companies and government organizations around the globe to guide them through the complexity of today’s media and entertainment business,” said Eric Mika, publisher of The Reporter. “THRintelligence, powered by the Nielsen Co., is in a unique position to deliver individualized solutions.”
Media analyst James Li, a four-year veteran of Nielsen Entertainment who joined THR four months ago, will head the initiative. At Nielsen, he managed film market research projects for Hollywood studios and participated in a Chinese movie market research.
“We are delighted to have James working with us on this new venture,” THR vp and associate publisher Rose Einstein said. “This is yet another step in expanding THR’s ability to meet the needs of the ever-expanding global entertainment marketplace.”
THRintelligence reports will consist of white papers customized for clients who need drill-down data and analysis about the TV, film, video, music and/or games business. The reports will take advantage of Nielsen’s research expertise and THR’s entertainment and media experience. Several projects are under way in the U.S. and abroad. (partialdiff)
