Jon Miller, chief digital officer and chairman/CEO of digital media group, News Corp., will be honored with the new “Digital Power Player” award at a June 2 event hosted by The Hollywood Reporter.
The newly created event and honor, bestowed to an executive who exemplifies bold leadership in the intersecting fields of technology and entertainment, are set to coincide with both the release of THR’s second annual “Digital Power 50” special report and Internet Week New York, which is operated June 1-8 by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences in cooperation with City of New York and The Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre & Broadcasting.
“We’re delighted to be honoring Jon Miller for his vision and accomplishments in the world of digital media,” said Andrew Wallenstein, editor, digital media, at THR. “What better time to host an event saluting him than during Internet Week New York and while our special report on Digital Power 50 is recognizing excellence among executives in this exciting new sector.”
Miller will talk about his new challenges at News Corp. and reflect on his career, which included stints in top posts at AOL and Velocity Interactive Group, in a Q&A with Wallenstein. All executives who were named to this year’s Digital Power 50 list will be invited to attend the cocktail event, which will be held at the Waldorf Astoria in Manhattan from 6-8 p.m. on June 2.
For the second consecutive year, Digital Power 50 will recognize 50 executives working in digital entertainment who have distinguished themselves with innovative work.
