Expanding its U.S. Next Gen franchise, The Hollywood Reporter will unveil Next Generation: International Television, which will recognize top executives age 35 and younger who have distinguished themselves in the international TV arena.
These 20 leaders will be honored Oct. 5 during the MIPCOM trade show in Cannes and profiled in THR’s Next Generation: International Television special issue, which hits newsstands Sept. 30.
“This event and special issue provide an ideal opportunity to acknowledge the accomplishments of these executives globally,” THR publisher Eric Mika said. “Recognizing business leaders today for tomorrow enhances international business opportunities, productions and sales while valuing those hardworking individuals who one day will be at the helm.”
Said THR editor Elizabeth Guider: “This initiative is the second expansion of the Next Gen franchise internationally, having launched a similar one for Asian up-and-comers last year. There were so many bright and talented candidates for each of these initiatives that we expect to further expand and refine the franchise abroad in coming years.”
THR has amassed an impressive track record predicting up-and-comers stateside: Next Gen alumni include DreamWorks’ Stacey Snider, MGM’s Mary Parent and WME’s Ari Emanuel.
