PARIS — French pay TV group Canal Plus has named Jean-Noel Tronc president of its international subsidiary Canal Plus Overseas, the group said Thursday.
Tronc replaces Dominique Fagot, who plans to retire in the coming days.
Tronc, who arrives at Canal Plus fresh from his position as general director of France Telecom subsidiary Orange France, also will run Canal Plus Poland.
Arnaud de Villeneuve will work alongside Tronc as general director of Canal Overseas and remain in his current position as CEO of Canal Plus Poland.
Canal Plus Overseas handles all of the pay TV’s group’s affairs internationally and in French-speaking countries including Sub-Saharan Africa and the Caribbean. Its offers are available in more than 40 countries.
