Joey Fatone, a former member of ‘N Sync and current host of NBC’s competition series “The Singing Bee,” has signed on to co-host TV Guide Network’s red-carpet programming through 2008.
Fatone will share hosting duties with Lisa Rinna, who signed an exclusive deal with the channel in April to become its red-carpet host at the major Hollywood awards shows. The pair — who also have each been contestants on different seasons of ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” — will make their hosting debut Sept. 16 at the Emmy Awards.
In addition to the Emmys, Fatone will co-host TV Guide’s red-carpet award-season coverage in 2008, including the Academy Awards, Golden Globe Awards, Grammy Awards and SAG Awards.
TV Guide Network president Ryan O’Hara called Rinna and Fatone a “dynamic, entertaining and winning hosting team” that will appeal to the network’s audience.
“Joey is a top-notch professional with a natural likability and great sense of humor, all of which are essential attributes of a red-carpet TV host,” he said. “He will be a terrific complement to Lisa, who is also incredibly charismatic and brings a wealth of fashion savvy and insight.”
Fatone added that he’s excited to take on the co-hosting role.
“I am looking forward to making the red-carpet experience entertaining, spontaneous and, most of all, fun — not only for those walking the red carpet but also for the fans watching at home,” he said.
Fatone and Rinna replace TV Guide’s previous red-carpet hosts, Joan and Melissa Rivers.
