UTA has signed rapper French Montana in all areas, The Hollywood Reporter and Billboard have exclusively learned.
The Moroccan-born artist’s mixtapes, self-released on his Cocaine City label beginning in the early 2000s, led to his signing with Akon’s Konvict Musik before he moved to Bad Boy Records and Maybach Music Group in 2012. His 2013 debut studio album, Excuse My French, opened at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
Montana has collaborated with artists including Jay Z, Kanye West, Will.I.Am, Miley Cyrus and Drake. Over the past week he has been photographed with Mariah Carey and Justin Bieber in the studio, where they are all recording a track together.
Montana also is represented by longtime manager Gaby Acevedo as well as new manager Stella Bulochnikov of Wikked TV, who also reps new UTA client Carey.
