Rich Vokulich has been named head of business affairs at the CW network.
In his new role, which gives him a senior vp title, Vokulich will spearhead business affairs for the CW, including all network talent, development and license fee negotiations. He replaces Michael Ross, who departed in April to become executive vp business affairs and operations at BBC Worldwide America.
Vokulich joins the CW from CBS Paramount Network Television, where he been serving as executive consultant since 2005. From 1999-2005, he was executive vp at Fox Television Studios, where he was involved in the overall operation of the studio, including business affairs and production of television movies, international co-productions, cable series (“The Shield”) and network programming (“The Bernie Mac Show” and “Malcolm in the Middle”).
At the CW, he will report to COO John Maatta.
“Among the elite ranks of seasoned business affairs executives, there are few individuals that have the wealth of background experience and intellectual horsepower that Rich brings to us,” Maatta said.
“We are very fortunate that we were able to bring Rich to the CW, where he is already deeply engaged in some of the most cutting-edge transactions in the industry today.”
Vokulich also spent 10 years on the network side at Fox, rising through the ranks to become senior vp business affairs at Fox Broadcasting Co., where he was involved with both scripted and reality programming as well as running lead on business affairs for the Fox Kids Network. Vokulich began his business affairs career at CBS.
