BELLUCCI BACK AT ROME FEST
Monica Bellucci will grace the Rome Film Festival’s opening-night red carpet for the second consecutive year, accompanying the Oct. 22 world premiere of Maria Sole Tognazzi’s “The Man Who Loves.” The selection of “Man Who Loves” marks the first time in the festival’s three-year history that an Italian film has been chosen to open the event, which will have a more Italian focus under the presidency of Gian Luigi Rondi.
UNIFIED 3-D VISION
Phil Streather and Ralston Humble, owner of Pablo Post in London’s Pinewood Studios, have entered into a joint venture. Under the banner PLF/Pablo Post, the participants will provide stereo 3-D training, consulting, production and postproduction services.
VAN SANT FETED
Gus Van Sant will receive a Gotham Awards Tribute on Dec. 2 at the 18th annual Gotham Awards in New York. In recognition of his films about LGBT subject matter (including the upcoming biopic “Milk”), IFP and Deloitte Financial Services are donating 45 video cameras to the Hetrick-Martin Institute’s Harvey Milk High School in New York.
MAGNOLIA READS ‘DIARY’
Magnolia has acquired worldwide rights to this weekend’s Urbanworld Film Festival entry “Diary of a Tired Black Man.” It will screen Saturday at the Urbanworld fest in New York, followed by a 2009 Magnolia release.
