Harris, who has been with Warner Bros. since 2004, will continue to consult on a few of her upcoming projects, including monster movie Godzilla, Adam Sandler-Drew Barrymore comedy Blended and the Wachowskis‘ next film, Jupiter Ascending, the studio announced Wednesday.
There is speculation the veteran exec may join former studio head Jeff Robinov in his new venture, which is seeking funding.
In her role as executive vp, production, Harris has overseen the production of a slew of films, including Zodiac, Where the Wild Things Are, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, Cloud Atlas, Magic Mike and Man of Steel. She’s also credited for helping bring Oscar-nominated film Gravity to the big screen.
“We, of course, support her decision to seek new challenges, and I personally know she will be as successful in her future endeavors as she has been during her tenure here at Warner Bros.,” said Greg Silverman, president, creative development and worldwide production, in a statement.
Prior to working at Warner Bros., Harris, a married mother of two, produced Blade III and The Notebook for New Line Cinema. She held the title of executive vp, production at New Line Cinema, where she oversaw and executive produced such films as Seven, Magnolia and Life as a House. She also was an executive producer of About a Boy for Universal.
