Action Bronson will try his hand at matchmaking in a new show Vice Media is producing exclusively for Snapchat.
In Hungry Hearts With Action Bronson, part of a larger deal that Vice has struck with Snapchat to create shows specifically for the app, the rapper will send people on curated dates that feature pre-planned activities and meals. Bronson will give Snapchat viewers a play-by-play of the dates and predict who will go out again before the outcome of each meeting is revealed.
The series, developed by the team at Viceland already producing Bronson’s F—k That’s Delicious, is part of Snapchat’s renewed effort to bring original series to its platform. The messaging app has already struck deals with NBC and ABC for companion series to popular franchises The Voice and The Bachelor, respectively. It also recently teamed with A+E on an original show about exes looking for closure.
Vice is currently developing other shows that will use both new IP and new takes on existing IP across the documentary, reality TV, scripted and unscripted spaces.
Vice was a launch partner on Snapchat’s Discover platform, where it features a daily mix of curated editorial and video from a range of media companies. The deal comes as Vice has focused on mobile expansion through a series of recent mobile video pacts in Asia.
Hungry Hearts will launch later this year and run for eight episodes.
