Animation technology startup Nito is getting a stamp of approval from animation veteran Fred Seibert.
His Frederator Studios, which has produced series for Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network, has signed on to use Nito’s professional software to create custom animation for its Channel Frederator multichannel network on YouTube.
Nito uses markerless facial tracking technology to animate 2D and 3D characters in real time. The software produces HD animation that allows characters that mimic the movements of an animator’s face.
“Frederator is one of the best and most well-known independent animation studios in the country, and Fred Seibert is a legend,” said Nito CEO Hoyt Morgan.”Nito is excited to be working with their team and their well-known characters”
Nito will develop avatars, backgrounds and voice effects to promote Federator’s Bravest Warriors, a futuristic series that streams on the Cartoon Hangover YouTube channel. The Los Angeles-based startup has also licensed the Bravest Warriors characters to use in its forthcoming consumer iPhone app, which will allow users to create their own animations with the characters.
“Making animated stuff is hard,” said Seibert. “Hoyt’s team at Nito has made it easy for Frederator to make timely animated promotion pieces for our Cartoon Hangover channel.”
