Global content rights platform BidSlate and online distribution group Digital Media Rights (DMR) announced a partnership Tuesday that will see DMR handle distribution on certain BidSlate titles on a non-exclusive basis.
The deal, which will initially run for five years, kicks off with five indie films: Dukale’s Dream, Den of Darkness, Hotel De Sade, Love Pyar Whatever and Nerd Prom: Inside Washington’s Wildest Week. The agreement encompasses rights for the films across DMR’s own over-the-top channels Yuyu, MidnightPulp, AsianCrush, Cocoro and KMTV, as well as digital platforms including Amazon Prime, Amazon Instant Video, Hulu, Pluto TV, TubiTV, Google Play, FandangoNow, Vudu, Kanopy and Overdrive and on cable VOD.
Roland Rojas, co-founder and president of BidSlate, and Michael Hong, CEO of Digital Media Rights, announced the deal on Tuesday.
New York-based BidSlate is an online rights platform launched in 2016 that operates as a global clearinghouse for online and mobile content rights, giving filmmakers a one-stop shop to license and digitally deliver their content to global buyers. Digital Media Rights owns and operates several over-the-top channels available across mobile devices and smart TVs and has digital distribution deals with many of the leading online platforms, including Amazon Prime, Hulu and Netflix.
