Since launching its beta version in February 2013, the company has improved its design and is making its prescription lenses more trendy and consumer-friendly with four newly designed options priced at $225 each.
The Titanium collection features four frame shapes: bold, curve, split and thin, offered in five different colors. Sunnies — with lenses from high-end sunglasses manufacturer Maui Jim and frames designed by the Google Glass team — also will be available in three styles for $150 each.
The Glass — which can display photographs, videos, and messages on a tiny screen above the wearer’s right eye — is currently in its Explorer phase, during which early adopters can test the eyewear and provide feedback, before the finalized product hits the market. Among one of the early users was Diane von Furstenberg, who wore the gadget to shoot a short film during her spring 2013 runway show.
The device will be available to a wider audience later this year.
