NEW YORK – Google tops the 15th annual list of Fortune‘s 100 best companies to work for, the magazine said Thursday.
“[We’ve been] making sure we have really healthy food for people,” co-founder and CEO Larry Page told the magazine. “We started putting the desserts around a wall, just around the corner. We have doctors on site. We’d like to do more of that, where we really make health care convenient and easy and faster, which I think helps people stay healthy.” Things like that have helped keep Google’s health care cost increases below the broader market, he told Fortune.
Discussing another health initiative in a portion of the interview that Fortune made available, Page said: “Generally you go to these big facilities for gyms – but we noticed people were heavily using the smaller gyms that are closer to their buildings.”
The only Hollywood company on the Fortune list is DreamWorks Animation in the 14th spot. Toy giants Mattel and Hasbro are in spots 79 and 82, respectively.
