Harry Potter actors James and Oliver Phelps, who portrayed identical twins Fred and George Weasley in the magical fantasy films, will moderate an Instagram livestream event with the developers of Jam City’s mobile game Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery on Sunday.
Participating developers from Culver City-based Jam City will be narrative designer Grace McClintock, 3D animation director Joe Daniels and product manager Yash Bharganwar. Each developer will be on hand to answer questions about the making of the role-playing fantasy game, which was published under a license from Warner Bros. Interactive label Portkey Games in 2018.
Sunday’s developer Q&A, celebrating the mobile game’s third anniversary, will take place at 12 p.m. PT on the official Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery Instagram page.
The game has maintained popularity for its ability to allows players to create their own witch or wizard characters, experience Quidditch, participate in rites of passage and carve out their own path as a student at the prestigious Hogwarts academy. “Our team continuously looks to create new features and gameplay elements that delight our fans and remain true to the Wizarding World,” said Sarah Wolf, game director at Jam City.
Jam City was founded in 2010 and is led by former MySpace co-founder Chris DeWolfe and former 20th Century Fox executive Josh Yguado. The company is also known for puzzle games including Panda Pop and Cookie Jam.
