Otter Media is beefing up its executive ranks.
The joint venture of The Chernin Group and AT&T has added four new executives to its c-suite a week after Tony Goncalves took the reins as CEO.
Andy Forssell is joining Otter as chief operating officer from portfolio company Fullscreen, where he served in the same role. He will lead the company’s day-to-day operations as well as technology and product development.
Prior to joining Fullscreen, Forssell was CEO of video aggregation startup Showyou. He also previously served as interim CEO of Hulu while it looked to replace founding CEO Jason Kilar. Forssell, who led content and distribution at Hulu for a number of years, left the company after Mike Hopkins was named CEO in 2013.
Also coming over from Fullscreen is Alan Beard. He will serve as chief brand officer at Otter. Beard is the co-founder of social creative agency McBeard, which Fullscreen acquired in 2015. He was named chief marketing officer at Fullscreen in 2016 following the departure of Jason Klarman.
Otter has also named Lionsgate Entertainment veteran Sean Kisker as chief strategy officer. Kisker has spent the last two years advising founders and CEOs. He spent 13 years at Lionsgate, rising up the ranks to oversee strategy for the studio.
Jennifer Cho, meanwhile, has joined Otter as chief financial officer. She joins the company from AT&T, where she most recently served as CFO of the entertainment group’s technology and operations division. The move reunites her with Goncalves, who served as an executive at DirecTV and AT&T before being named CEO of Otter.
“Andy, Sean, Jennifer, and Alan are skilled executives with great instincts,” said Goncalves. “They each bring a strong point of view, knowledge and vast experience. This exceptional team will lay a solid foundation for us to continue to build and evolve Otter’s leadership in the digital media space.”
Established in 2014 to invest in and launch over-the-top video businesses, Otter now oversees a portfolio that includes Fullscreen and Crunchyroll and has investments in Gunpowder & Sky and Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine.
