Former How to Get Away With Murder actress Katie Findlay is set to star in a new digital series from New Form Digital.
Findlay will play the lead in Pulse, an EDM musical that will stream on Verizon’s go90 app this fall, alongside a cast that includes Craig Stickland, Calum Worthy, Melissa O’Neil and Alexandre Landry. Online talent Meg DeAngelis and Harley Morenstein guest star.
The 12-episode series is set in Berlin and follows a group of American expatriates who become immersed in the city’s dance scene. Findlay plays Hannah Cooper, an aspiring musician who goes to Berlin in search of a missing friend and is drawn into the seductive club in which he was involved.
Duncan Sheik (Spring Awakening) wrote and arranged the score for the musical, which will feature an original song performed by the cast in each episode.
Pulse, which was created by Kyle Jarrow, has begun production in Montreal. It is being directed by Anna Mastro (Walter).
“Pulse is a very special series that required just the right cast to bring it to life,” said Melissa Schneider, senior vp development and production at New Form. “Katie is the perfect actor for the role of Cooper and she, along with the ensemble cast, will make Kyle and Duncan’s vision a reality.”
New Form Digital, the joint venture of Ron Howard, Brian Grazer and Discovery, has a six-series deal with go90, a free ad-supported app that feature originals, live sports and some TV content. New Form also has produced projects for CW’s The Seed, YouTube Red, Refinery29 and Fullscreen’s app.
