Logan Paul returned to vlogging on Sunday, with a video appropriately titled “LOGAN PAUL IS BACK!”
The YouTube star faced backlash after posting a controversial video on Dec. 31 from Japan’s Aokigahara, known as the “suicide forest,” that appeared to show an actual suicide victim. The video was subsequently removed, and YouTube also responded by removing Paul from its preferred program and “Foursome” show. Paul went on to apologize for his decision to post the footage, and has since uploaded a suicide prevention video and appeared on ABC’s Good Morning America to discuss the negative attention he’s received. “It’s been tough because ironically I’m being told to commit suicide myself. Millions of people literally telling me they hate me, to go die in a fire,” he said.
Now, Paul is back to creating clips for his YouTube channel, where he has more than 16 million subscribers. In a new 12-minute clip, a voice announces, “The legend, the myth, the maverick … Jake Paul,” before correcting the line to “Logan Paul” (Jake is Logan’s brother), “showing his face for the first time after the disgraced YouTuber has been spotted across the country, hiding his face from paparazzi and seen swallowing his tears on social media.”
“It’s time for the epic comeback,” the voiceover says. “Today, the era of boring YouTube content is over.”
In his latest video, Paul hawks his merchandise, mentions that he’s being sued for $4 million, talks about almost dying while skydiving when his parachute didn’t open and addresses both his haters and his supporters.
“I will never, ever, ever forget who I am at my core, and no one can make me think I’m something otherwise. As long as I’m learning and improving and getting better as a person, then we’re good,” he says.
