Marriott guests will now be able to watch Orange is the New Black and House of Cards on their hotel room television sets.
The hotel chain announced on Wednesday morning that it has partnered with Netflix to offer the streaming service at select hotels.
Marriott has been testing the program at a small group of hotels and says Netflix is already available at six properties with six more launching this summer. The company plans to offer Netflix at 100 of its properties by the end of the year and 300 in the United States by the end of 2016.
“Our collaboration with Netflix responds to changing consumer preferences in the way our guests access and watch content, while recognizing the leading role Netflix is playing in driving this transformation,” said Matthew Carroll, vice president brand management at Marriott Hotels. “Because consumers are choosing to take their streaming content with them when they travel, Marriott Hotels is making the industry’s first rollout of Netflix a priority.”

Of course, guests can already access Netflix via laptop and mobile devices, but this deal makes it easier for them to access the service on their in-room TVs.
The partnership requires Netflix to offer an adapted experience that allows guests to stay logged in for multiple days and wipes their information from the TV sets after they check out.
“Our members tell us they want to watch Netflix anytime, in any place where they have an Internet connection,” said Bill Holmes, global head of business development at Netflix. “Through our partnership with Marriott, they’ll get to watch their favorite movies, TV shows and Netflix originals on big screens just like they do at home.”
Marriott is currently focused on adding the service to Marriott Hotels-branded properties, but says that it is also available at more than 20 U.S. hotels representing Marriott International brands.
