Supergravity Pictures is bolstering its production capabilities with two new development hires.
The company has tapped film producer Cody Zwieg as senior vp development and production. Zwieg most recently worked with Jason Blum‘s Blumhouse Productions on horror film The Lazarus Effect starring Olivia Wilde, Mark Duplass and Donald Glover. He has also spent several years working closely with Wes Craven, serving as vp production and development at Craven’s Midnight Entertainment shingle, during which time his producing credits include The Hills Have Eyes and The Hills Have Eyes 2.
“I’m thrilled to join a team that embraces new avenues for traditional storytelling,” said Zwieg. “We are going to support strong voices and innovative perspectives at Supergravity.”
Supergravity has also brought on Mike Flavin as director of development. He joins the Culver City based company from Cider Mills Productions, where he held the same role. Flavin also spent time at State Street Pictures as a creative executive.
“It’s inspiring to join a company that so clearly understands where the future of the business is heading,” said Flavin. “I’m excited to join an amazing team.”
Supergravity, which recently received funding from The Chernin Group and AT&T’s Otter Media, produces, markets and directly distributes films starring primarily online influencers. Since launching in 2014, it has released buddy comedy Man Up starring Justin Chon and Kevin Wu and also premiered thriller The Chosen starring Kian Lawley.
