Peter Thiel will travel to Austin, Texas, in March for the South by Southwest music, film and technology festival.
The investor and founder of Palantir Technologies is joining the lineup of featured speakers during the event, which is set to run March 9-18. He will be interviewed onstage by Trust Me, I’m Lying author Ryan Holiday about privacy.
The billionaire PayPal co-founder made headlines in 2016 when it was revealed that he had backed Hulk Hogan’s lawsuit against Gawker Media, which ultimately sent the company into bankruptcy. Thiel, who currently sits on the board of Facebook, is expected to discuss his involvement in the Gawker lawsuit.
Other speakers added to the SXSW lineup include former New York Yankee player Alex Rodriguez, CNN chief international correspondent Christiane Amanpour, Forerunner Ventures founder Kristen Green, Aspen Institute CEO Walter Isaacson and Vox editor-at-large Ezra Klein.
Another keynote speaker has also been added to the event, as London Mayor Sadiq Khan will speak as part of the SXSW convergence track on Monday, March 12.
Festival organizers previously announced that mother! director Darren Aronofsky, author Ta-Nehisi Coates and Moonlight helmer Barry Jenkins would be among the event’s keynote speakers.
