Turner Sports and WME/IMG are teaming up to showcase the burgeoning eSports genre at the Consumer Electronics Show which begins Jan. 6 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The companies will team up for live on-site event coverage of its first-ever Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Championship, streamed live via the FACEIT Twitch Channel on Jan. 7 at 12:30 p.m. PT.
Turner Sports will have its biggest footprint ever at the annual event, including sponsoring a Sports Business Forum that will include a panel with NBA Commissioner Adam Silver and Baseball Commissioner Robert D. Manfred Jr. Turner, of course, is among the TV rights holders for both leagues.
Additionally, TNT’s Inside the NBA — with host Ernie Johnson and analysts Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith and Shaquille O’Neal — will be televised live from CES. Pregame coverage will begin Thursday at 4 p.m. from the show floor with halftime updates and full post-game coverage throughout the evening.
Other panels will include Sacramento Kings owner Vivek Ranadive and other team owners sharing insights into ways they are leveraging technology to deliver more personalized experiences and deeper levels of engagement; O’Neal and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban discussing the technology that is changing the sports experience.
