NEW YORK — Denny’s on Monday unveiled the launch of celebrity chat Web series Always Open, hosted by comedian David Koechner (Anchorman, Saturday Night Live, The Office) from the booth of a Denny’s restaurant.
The first episode, which sees Koechner chat with Jason Bateman, launched Monday at www.collegehumor.com/alwaysopen.
The restaurant chain is doing the show, whose episodes run for a few minutes each, in partnership with Will Arnett’s and Bateman’s digital studio DumbDumb and Ben Silverman‘s Electus, part of Barry Diller‘s IAC.
It is an extension of Denny’s latest nationwide campaign developed by New York ad agency Gotham under the slogan “America’s Diner is always open.”
Celebrities scheduled for upcoming episodes of the series are Arnett, Sarah Silverman, Amy Poehler, Will Forte and Kristin Bell.
“Everyone from diners and employees of Denny’s to talk show guests will interact together in this entertaining, spontaneous environment, providing further integration of brand and content,” the companies said in a statement.
Always Open will be distributed across CollegeHumor.com, Denny’s.com, DumbDumb.com and will also be accessible via YouTube, Facebook and other social platforms.
“Going forward, we hope that Always Open establishes itself as a natural destination for many of today’s top figures in the entertainment industry,” said Arnett and Bateman. “Frankly, we think this show is a grand slamwich.”
