Twitch and Xbox’s independent publishing program ID@Xbox joined together on Friday for an indie showcase featuring over 60 games, including 20 that will launch day one on Xbox Game Pass.
Among the familiar titles in the latter group was the open world, coming-of-age exploration game Sable, from Swedish publisher Raw Fury and North London-based developer Shedworks. Also from Raw Fury (and Canadian developer EggNut) was the noir role-playing detective adventure game Backbone, included in the list of games headed to Xbox Game Pass; along with Way to the Woods, from solo developer Anthony Tan at One Pixel Dog.
Dungeon crawler Boyfriend Dungeon from Montreal-based Kitfox Games was also among the games landing on Xbox Game Pass at launch, along with stealth horror game Hello Neighbor 2 from tinyBuild Games, Dynamix Pixels and Gearbox Software; and ’80s-inspired Narita Boy from Team 17 and Spanish developer Studio Koba. She Dreams Elsewhere, a personal narrative from Cleveland developer Studio Zevere that follows an anxiety-ridden woman on a journey to confront the nightmares that prevent her from awakening, stood out among the offerings.
No genre was left out in the additional sea of games coming to Xbox, from creative cooking game Soup Pot to fishing RPG Moonglow Bay. Annapurna Interactive’s narrative time-loop game Twelve Minutes from developer Luis Antonio, starring Daisy Ridley, Willem Dafoe and James McAvoy, was also shown; along with gameplay from the studio’s third-person narrative game Last Stop.
The showcase streamed exclusively on Twitch.
Xbox Game Pass launched in 2017 and gives players access to hundreds of titles for a monthly rate. The subscription service surpassed 10 million members last year.
