YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki is returning to VidCon.
The longtime Google executive will be the official industry keynote speaker at the annual online video confab in Anaheim, Calif., for the second year in a row. Other speakers joining her at VidCon include CBS Interactive CEO Jim Lanzone, BuzzFeed Motion Pictures president Ze Frank, HLN chief Albie Hecht, Greycroft Partners investor Mark Terbeek and Marriott International’s David Beebe.
Now in its sixth year, VidCon brings together industry executives, creators and fans for three days of presentations, panel discussions, signing booths, concerts and more. Wojcicki, Lanzone and the others are part of an industry track designed for digital, entertainment and media executives. Other previously announced speakers include Vessel CEO Jason Kilar and Twitter’s head of TV Baljeet Singh.
Last year, newly appointed Wojcicki took the stage to unveil new services and features designed to appeal to creators and fans. This year’s keynote could be an ideal time for her to reveal more details about the streamer’s forthcoming video subscription service, which is expected to launch this summer as a companion to its Music Key paid offering, which it has been testing with a small group of early users for several months.
“Now that we’re celebrating YouTube’s 10th birthday, VidCon is the perfect place to reflect with the community on how far we’ve come, and focus on the future of online video and all the big opportunities that lie ahead,” Wojcicki said.
VidCon, which runs from July 23 to July 25, is expected to draw more than 300 YouTube creators and more than 20,000 attendees.
