Lana Del Rey Covers Nirvana's 'Heart-Shaped Box' (Video)

Lana Del Rey is making her way through Australia where, on Thursday night at Sidney's Enmore Theater, she performed a cover of Nirvana's "Heart-Shaped Box."

Her interpretation of the emotionally charged 1993 hit did not immitate Kurt Cobain's signature vocal grit, rather, Del Rey delivered an airy, ethereal tone to the rock anthem, giving it the feel of a ballad. With her signature saunter and a string section to set the mood, the audience welcomed the understated performance enthusiastically.

Coincidentally, Del Rey's own breakout hit "Video Games" was recently covered by Boy George.
