Guess has just released photos of its new children's clothing model, none other than Anna Nicole Smith’s adorable 6-year-old daughter, Dannielynn Birkhead.
Dannielynn is following in her mother’s footsteps: Smith was initially hired as a relative unknown by the clothing brand in 1993. While appearing in its iconic Hollywood-bombshell ad campaigns, the voluptuous ex-Playboy model, then 26, married 89-year-old oil magnate J. Howard Marshall.
In a statement from Guess creator Paul Marciano, he states that Smith's daughter "has the same playful spirit that her mother brought to the set."
After a troubled life, Smith died of a drug overdose in February 2007 at 39. According to Dannielynn's dad, photographer Larry Birkhead, she wants to be just like her mother.
"Dannielynn had fun paying tribute to her mom with the Guess ad campaign, but it is back to school for her, which is her focus," Birkhead, 39, told Entertainment Tonight in a video interview during the photo shoot. "The first thing she asked is, 'When will I be on the shopping bags like Mommy?' I know that Anna's looking at this and seeing how great this will be."
Birkhead obtained custody of Dannielynn when she was 5 months old after a DNA test confirmed him as her father two months after Smith died.
The Guess ads were shot on a Malibu beach and will be on buses, billboards and in magazines in January.
Another famous daughter, 4-year-old Peyton Edmonds, whose father is music industry vet Babyface, also is modeling in the campaign..
