Anna Wintour, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian had dinner together on Sunday evening. Which led us to believe that the supposed rift between the reality star and the Vogue helmer was finally behind us.
Apparently, not so much.
It seems that the fashion bible kicked Kardashian out of its 77-slide website photo gallery featuring Monday night's best dressed Met Gala attendees — which Jezebel first noticed after spotting only a sliver of Kardashian's printed Givenchy maternity gown on the arm of baby daddy West, whose face and body were left intact.
Typically such things wouldn't be big news. Except Kardashian and Wintour have had rumored beef since last spring, when it was reported that she was banned from the 2012 Met Ball at Wintour's direction.
This wouldn't be the first time that the high fashion community has stuck their noses up at Kardashian. In March, she appeared in an Elle spread styled by noted Lady Gaga fashion collaborator and newly-appointed Diesel creative director Nicola Formachetti, who said dressing her was no easy feat.
"People wouldn't lend me clothes," he said in the accompanying article. "But that's fashion snobbery."
Snobbery or just marketing strategy, Kardashian has gotten quite a bit of flack for her choice in Met Ball outfit — a form fitting Givenchy floral gown complete with matching gloves and footwear — which has been widely described as looking like a "sofa" across the internet. Givenchy designer Riccardo Tisci, who was a co-chair of this year's punk-themed gala and dressed 13 people for the party, defended Kardashian to Women's Wear Daily.
“I love Kim. Doing maternity was fantastic. I wanted to have a Kim Kardashian moment, because Kim always supports me. She is the future wife of a really good friend of mine," Tisci told the fashion trade. "I think she looked amazing. She was the most beautiful pregnant woman I dressed in my career.”
Too bad Tisci doesn't edit online photo galleries at Vogue.
