Jenny Packham is the Hollywood designer that most stylists, editors and even actresses haven't met. While she's shown in New York for several seasons, Packham hasn't spent a ton of time schmoozing in L.A. with the local talent. She's got a huge international business for eveningwear and is based in London. But that's about to change in ten days or so.
After all, the amount of stars she's dressing seems to be growing exponentially by the minute. Kate Winslet, whose worn Packham before, wore a black gown of hers to the Titantic 3D premier in London this week with director James Cameron. January Jones wore a baby blue shift dress of Packham's to the Paley Fest event for Mad Men this week with Jon Hamm.
Packham has also recently dressed Emmy Rossum, Anna Kendrick, Dita von Teese, Kate Middleton, Christina Ricci, and of course, Jolie several times. Today we learned the designer will house the winter collection at the Chateau Marmont in L.A. on Wednesday, April 11 between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m., working with the Film Fashion company. She's also seeing people early Thursday.
Having seen the fall/writer 2012 collection in New York in February, we can tell you there are a lot of lovely gems in there - that would work well for Cannes, Venice and the Emmys in September. It's never to early to start thinking of these things!
