Lady Gaga is pairing the first-ever black eau de parfum with a very dark promotional clip.
In the first commercial for her new scent – make that a trailer for the first commercial -- Gaga appears in a dark and futuristic realm, where she reigns supreme over her male counterparts. In various scenes, she emerges from a bath of black liquid, straddles a restrained man while wearing a black, bondage-like suit and poses naked with tiny men climbing all over her bare body.
All in all, the Fame clip includes shades of Grey, “Bad Romance” and her previously released Fame print ad.
The 35-second spot, produced by Ridley Scott, reunites Gaga with her “Alejandro” video director Stephen Klein.
“We thought, let’s just make the most epic fragrance campaign of all time, and let’s not care at all about whether they can even print it or show it on TV,” Gaga told Vogue in its September issue. “Let’s just do everything we ever dreamed of. We basically did this purely for the pleasure of working together.”
