You've no doubt seen the slender curvy sheaths of designer Narciso Rodriguez on the red carpet: Claire Danes (pictured here) and Juliana Margulies wear his clothes often and to great effect . And of course, he's most famous for designing the wedding gown of the late Carolyn Bessette Kennedy.
Narciso dresses run upwards of $1000 apiece, but this November, they'll be priced between $30-$150 - good prices even by H&M standards. Rodriguez will collaborate with the low-priced chain Kohl's (and their website) to produce a special line that will debut in November. What we saw of it was thick with deep pinks and fuschias - it's said to be inspired by a trip to Istanbul, which is one of the hottest tourist destinations in the world right now.
Will this collab sell out as quickly as Marni for H&M - which was gone in about a day and a half? We expect so. The sketches are lovely. We also hear that Kohl's is wooing designer Derek Lam as well, to follow Rodriguez. Wow. Plan this well, and you can have an entire designer wardrobe for next to nothing - you've just got to get up very, very, very early on the right day. Or wait in line all night.
