Soludos, the line of simple, slip-on espadrilles inspired by classic Spanish, rope-soled shoes, has collaborated with Madewell — J. Crew’s more indie-minded cousin — for an exclusive capsule collection of spring appropriate footwear, launching Monday. The collection is comprised of three prints — a solid coral, navy polka dot and a multi-striped pattern ($45 each, available at madewell.com) — festooned across the top of the low-cut espadrille silhouette.
The line was founded in 2010 by New York-based British ex-pat Nick Brown, who created the company after pining for a non-flip-flop solution for summer. The light little shoes have since become the ubiquitous espadrille brand seen on the likes of Rachel Bilson, Diane Kruger, Anne Hathaway and Kristen Stewart.
The foot candy feels like a no-brainer for the impending music-festival season, especially paired with a kicky vintage dress or micro shorts (if you must). While more fashion-y than flip-flops, the shoes aren't so precious that you'll be bummed using them to trudge through the desert dust or water-logging them in a hot tub.
