The ABC period drama, initially billed as Mad Men for the airline industry, marked Robbie's Hollywood debut. Despite hefty promotion and decent reviews, the series lasted only 14 episodes.
She turned a conventional role as the bombshell wife in Martin Scorsese's Wolf into a standout. Not long after, Robbie became the industry's latest "It" girl and was offered roles and spokesperson gigs.
Robbie campaigned aggressively to play Ann Burden, a farm girl in Craig Zobel's sci-fi indie — and a vastly different role than Wolf's Naomi. "I'm actually much more like Ann than I am Naomi," she said then.
Though the summer blockbuster disappointed, Tarzan gave Robbie, the movie's Jane, an opportunity to show off her range in a key role in a big-budget project.
The superhero ensemble was ripped by critics, but audiences turned out in droves (it grossed nearly $750 million worldwide). Robbie's Harley Quinn was a clear breakout, with spinoffs in the works.
