Rising stars Elizbeth Olsen and Jessica Chastain attended THR's shoot at a private Hollywood Hills home Apr. 28. Both are making Cannes debuts this year: Olsen, for Martha Marcy May Marlene, and Chastain for The Tree of Life.
"Terrence Malick may be one of the greatest teachers in my life," she says of her Tree of Life director. "He would say, 'Making something happen is never as interesting as capturing the accident.' I just want to capture the accidents."
"I don't go to events," says Olsen. "I don't go to fashion things. Dressing up is fun, but I'd rather be working on a set."
Photographed by Andrew MacPherson, Olsen opted for a Alberta Ferretti frock and Chopard earrings, while Chastain donned a Dolce & Gabbana bodysuit and skirt, with Chopard bracelets.
The two rising stars met for the first time during the photo shoot.
Chastain (here in a Zac Posen dress from Neiman Marcus in Beverly Hills) is expected to be a household name soon. "The fact that I have six movies coming out this year is a scary thing for me and my family," she says of her recent projects, which include The Help and The Wettest County in the World. "How is my life going to change and how is theirs?"
"My future is acting," says Olsen (here, getting a quick hair touch-up by Mark Townsend). "All I want to do is act."
