After nearly a decade off the air, the beloved family drama is returning as a revival from creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and longtime exec producer Dan Palladino, with Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel reprising their roles as mother-daughter duo Lorelai and Rory Gilmore.

The Netflix revival is composed of four 90-minute movies that cover the span of four seasons: winter, spring, summer and fall.
The wide-spanning cast — including Kelly Bishop as Emily Gilmore, Scott Patterson as Luke Danes, Melissa McCarthy as Sookie St. James, Keiko Agena as Lane Kim, Liza Weil as Paris Geller and Sean Gunn as Kirk Gleason — is confirmed to appear. That includes all three of Rory's beaus: Matt Czuchry (Logan Huntzberger), Milo Ventimiglia (Jess Mariano) and Jared Padalecki (Dean Forester).
Along with the original series' cast and well-known guest stars, the revival will also include appearances by Sutton Foster, a self-proclaimed fan of the show, and Mae Whitman, who played Graham's onscreen daughter in NBC's Parenthood.
The update promises to reveal Rory's post-collegiate life.
The series will also note Emily Gilmore's new chapter as a widow, and pay tribute to the late Edward Hermann, who played Richard Gilmore.
All three of Rory's former love interests, Dean (Jared Padalecki), Jess (Milo Ventimiglia) and Logan (Matt Czuchry), are set to return for the revival.
All four 90-minute installments of the revival will be available for streaming on Nov. 25. Previously, Sherman-Palladino said she was against releasing all four parts at once. "I told [Netflix] I was going to hang myself from a shower curtain if they put them all out," the series creator said jokingly at the Television Critics Association summer press tour. "They said, 'Can we help you with that?'"
In addition to stars Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel, the series regular cast also includes Scott Patterson, Kelly Bishop, Keiko Agena and Sean Gunn. However, many beloved recurring characters, such as Lane's mother Mrs. Kim (played by Emily Kuroda), will also reprise their roles.
As part of the promotion for the revival, Netflix offered free coffee at more than 200 coffee shops across the country that were turned into Luke's Diner. The giveaways took place on Oct. 5, to mark the 16th anniversary of the show's premiere.
In the first series finale, i.e. the season seven ender, Rory was seen leaving Stars Hollow for a job covering then-Senator Barack Obama's presidential campaign shortly after graduating from Yale.
In addition to Sutton Foster and Mae Whitman, other new additions confirmed for the four-part revival include Christian Borle and Kerry Butler. Of the original cast, Scott Cohen will not be reprising his role as Lorelai's ex and Rory's former teacher, Max Medina.
A portrait of the late Richard Gilmore is seen in the background. Hermann died on Dec. 31, 2014 of brain cancer at the age of 71, roughly six months before the cast was set to reunite for the first time at the ATX Television Festival.
Although they appear to be reunited, it remains to be seen where exactly Luke and Lorelai's relationship stands in the revival. The on-and-off couple spent most of season seven apart, with Lorelai marrying Rory's father Christopher (David Sutcliffe) in Paris. They split shortly thereafter.
Graham is also releasing her second book, Talking as Fast as I Can: From Gilmore Girls to Gilmore Girls (and Everything in Between), on Nov. 29, four days after the Netflix revival comes out.
The first trailer released for the upcoming four-part revival, released exactly a month ahead of its Nov. 25 premiere, offered a few surprising spoilers, most notably Emily Gilmore dressed in jeans and a t-shirt.
Liza Weil, who now stars on ABC's How to Get Away With Murder, reprises her role as Paris Geller in this scene, in which Rory and Paris go back to Chilton. "It's been sort of a lovely gift to have it live on and not be doing the job at the same time," she told THR earlier this year of the show's continued popularity. "Coming back to it was a strange thing because I wrapped season two of How to Get Away With Murder, and two days later I was on-site as Paris Geller."
Michael Winters, seen here opposite Bledel, also reprises his role as Taylor Doose. After all, what would a town meeting be without Taylor?
Yanic Truesdale, who played Dragonfly Inn employee Michel Gerard for all seven seasons, was one of the first to share behind-the-scenes photos from production on Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life back in early February.
Agena's return as Rory's BFF Lane was announced when Netflix first confirmed the revival project so it was (almost) a given that Todd Lowe, who played her TV husband and Hep Alien bandmate, would also make an appearance. This isn't the first Hep Alien reunion, however. The band, also including John Cabrera as Brian, played together when the cast reunited at the ATX Television Festival.
Sean Gunn steps back into the role of beloved Stars Hollow oddball Kirk for all four parts of the revival. It only remains to be seen whether the baby pig belongs to him, Lorelai or if Kirk has simply found a new calling as a pig/animal walker.
Liz Torres and Sally Struthers return as Stars Hollow favorites Miss Patty and Babette, respectively. Star Hollow: The Musical will include a musical performance from Sutton Foster, who starred in ABC Family's Bunheads, which hailed from Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino.
In recent years, the outdoor area on the Warner Bros. lot used for Stars Hollow outdoor shots has played host to a slew of other productions, most notably Freeform's Pretty Little Liars.
