Hilary Swank Decorates Her $3.5 Million West Village Apartment

Actress Hilary Swank, who bought a $3.5 million, two-bedroom condo in Manhattan's West Village last year, is showing it off in the new issue of Elle Decor magazine. She worked with designer Mark Zeff. He told the magazine he gravitated toward pieces from the Calvin Klein Home collection which have a "a strong modern sensibility without any tricks." The building, located on the site of a former printing plant, was designed by Robert A.M. Stern and is said to also count designer Marc Jacobs as a resident.

The apartment has views of the Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens skylines with a peek at the Hudson River. It clocks in at 1,400 square feet. "I feel comforted in smaller spaces. They're more nurturing," Swank (who appears next in the film New Year's Eve, out Dec. 9) told the magazine.

One living room wall is made from weathered, reclaimed barn wood from a farm in Pennsylvania.

Chris Brown is making moves, though this time they're not on the dance floor. The singer, who performed his hits "All Back" and "Say It With Me" at the Nov. 20 American Music Awards, recently bought a $1.5 million pad in the Hollywood Hills, RadarOnline.com reports. The 2,500 square-foot house has three bedrooms and an outdoor pool. Brown is moving to the house from his West Hollywood condo, where he ran into trouble with his neighbors over parking and noise issues.

The Radar Online website points out that Brown's new spot is just miles from a house ex-girlfriend Rihanna owns, in Beverly Hills. However, she recently listed the house for $4.5 million, and is currently suing its sellers for failing to disclose the property's waterproofing and construction defects.

Slain Publicist Ronni Chasen’s Former Home Sells for $950,000

The condo owned by movie publicist Ronni Chasen, who was found murdered on Nov. 16, 2010 in Beverly Hills, has sold for $950,000, reports Curbed LA. It was listed in July for $1.2 million. Chasen's two-bedroom unit is in L.A.'s 18-story Regency Wilshire building near Westwood. Chasen worked on Oscar campaigns for such films as Driving Miss Daisy and The Hurt Locker. She was shot while driving home from the premiere of Burlesque. A French TV documentary is in the works about Chasen. The listing was with Karen Heiferman of Hilton & Hyland. The buyer’s agent is Annalee Chandler of Ferraro & Associates.

“Good Will Hunting” House For Sale at $779,000

A house that’s been known as the Good Will Hunting house — ever since Matt Damon and Ben Affleck holed up there to work on their Academy Award-winning screenplay for the 1997 film — is for sale at $779,000. Zillow Blog describes it as "an old-world kind of house — a unique Tudor straight out of a Brothers Grimm fairy tale." The price was dropped from its original listing at $1.274 million.

The 2,187-square-foot, four-bedroom, two-bath house is located in L.A.'s Eagle Rock neighborhood. Actor, comedian and voice actor Seth Green has purchased a property in Studio City, Calif., for $1.436 million, reports the Realestalker. Green is the voice of Chris on Family Guy and is one of the creators and producers of the Emmy-winning Robot Chicken. He married actress Clare Grant last year. The Realestalker website describes the property as a "mini-compound discreetly nestled into a wooded hollow above the Studio City side of Laurel Canyon at the tail end of a long, winding (and shared) private drive."

Green's 1951 one-story ranch house sits on almost one acre with 2,582 square feet of living space with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It also comes with a one-bedroom guesthouse. According to the Realestalker, Green, through a trust, also owns a loft condo in New York City's TriBeCa neighborhood, which he purchased for $2.781 million in 2004.

Dallas Mavericks NBA guard Jason Kidd has listed a condo at the Azure building in Dallas for $1.595 million, reports TMZ. He purchased the 2,607-square-foot unit in 2008 for just under $1.5 million.

David Anderle, a former A & M Records exec and record producer for the likes of Aaron Neville, Kris Kristofferson, the Circle Jerks and Judy Collins, is putting his 1920s Spanish-style house in the Hollywood Hills on the market. Listed at $4.75 million, the three-bedroom, four-bedroom residence was once a speak-easy, reports the Los Angeles Times' Lauren Beale. The property clocks in at one third of an acre and the house at 3,813 square feet of living space. The listing is with Judy Feder of Hilton & Hyland.

Rod Lurie, director of such films as The Contender, Nothing but the Truth and this year’s remake of Straw Dogs, has sold a six-bedroom, six-bathroom house in Pasadena for $2.283 million. According to Blockshopper Los Angeles, Lurie paid $1.985 million for the house in 2002.

The Eastern Shingle-style 5,774-square-foot residence is known as Hollister House and was built in 1899 by famous architects Charles and Henry Greene.

Anil Podduturi, vp of product strategy at NBCUniversal, and Shannon Connolly, vp of digital music strategy at MTV Networks, have just purchased a one-bedroom apartment for $1.2 million in the Dumbo neighborhood of Brooklyn, according to BlockShopper Brooklyn. Connolly has been instrumental in the network’s O Music Awards. The unit is located in the 1910 Sweeney Building. The apartment has views of the Manhattan Bridge, East River and the neighborhood’s cobblestone streets and brick buildings. The listing was with Prudential Douglas Elliman.

HBO President Sells in TriBeCa for $4.15 Million

Simon Sutton, president of international and content distribution at HBO, has sold a fourth-floor, three-bedroom condo in New York’s TriBeCa neighborhood for $4.15 million, reports BlockShopper Manhattan.

He paid $3.85 million for it in 2005. The loft-like, full-floor unit is 3,100 square feet with 2.5 baths. The master bedroom suite has a limestone bathroom, two-person Jacuzzi and two walk-in closets.
