“The first audition was actually an interview about my life and my time playing sports,” the actor tells THR about how he scored a role in Linklater’s Boyhood follow-up.
"Don't be an asshole," says Russell, son of actors Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell.
"Rick invited us down to his ranch in Texas about three weeks before the shoot, and we made a bunkhouse with 12 bunk beds and just hung out together. It was like a summer camp," the actor recalls of preparing to film Everybody Wants Some.
"When I got injured, it was a disastrous moment. But it turned out to be probably the best thing," says Russell, whose career as a professional hockey player was cut short after suffering multiple hip injuries.
