Judd Apatow strolls the streets of Los Angeles with cardboard cutouts of his family. His wife, Leslie Mann, and children, Maude and Iris, star in This is 40. "I like writing about immaturity. Most people don't want to be mature; they don't want to grow up, and a lot of immaturity is really runny to watch," Apatow said.
Judd Apatow first met wife Leslie Mann when she auditioned for the 1996 Apatow-produced film The Cable Guy. "When I hire my children, the purpose is to get a level of detail that other people can't. People with existing relationships allow you an incredible opportunity to show truthful human behavior. When Leslie kisses the kids, you feel the love," Apatow said.

Earlier in his career, Judd Apatow shared an apartment for two years with Adam Sandler. Sandler would later be cast in Apatow's Funny People in 2009.
Judd Apatow's new film This is 40 is the fourth film he has directed (The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Knocked Up and Funny People are the others). It centers around Debbie (Leslie Mann) and Pete (Paul Rudd), the couple who help Katherine Heigl and Seth Rogen's characters in Knocked Up.
Judd Apatow met Garry Shandling in L.A.'s stand-up scene and would later go on to be a co-executive producer on Shandling's HBO hit The Larry Sanders Show. Jonah Hill, 29, has worked on a number of Apatow flicks including Knocked Up, Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Superbad.
Judd Apatow landed an Emmy with Ben Stiller in 1993 for his work writing The Ben Stiller Show.
