In Grammer’s latest project, he’ll play the powerful mayor of Chicago, Tom Kane, whose empire is on the verge of falling apart when he begins struggling with a degenerative brain disorder. Boss will premiere on October 21 on Starz.

Grammer starred alongside Ted Danson, Woody Harrelson, Kirstie Alley, Shelly Long, Rhea Perlman, George Wendt and John Ratzenberger on NBC's long-running show about a Boston bar and its patrons. Grammer joined the series during its third season as Dr. Frasier Crane. The show aired from 1982-1993. He received two Emmy nominations for the part.
NBC created a spin-off surrounding the actor's Cheers character which ran from 1993 to 2004. Grammer was nominated for an Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series Emmy 10 times, winning four, in 1994, '95, '98 and 2004. Actors David Hyde Pierce, Peri Gilpin, John Mahoney and Jane Leeves were supporting players on the series.
Grammer holds the distinction of having won five Emmy Awards, four for his work on NBC's Frasier and one for his voice-over performance on The Simpsons in 2006. He has been nominated 14 times, and is also a two-time Golden Globe winner (again for Frasier).

Grammer played news anchor Chuck Darling alongside Patricia Heaton in this short-lived half-hour comedy show, which only lasted one season (2007-2008).
Grammer’s production company, Grammnet Productions, produces NBC’s Medium, and also produced The CW’s Girlfriends and The Game. The company is also producing Grammer’s latest project for Starz, Boss.

On May 22, 2001, Grammer received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

On The Simpsons, the actor brought to life the now-infamous Sideshow Bob, a performance he won an Emmy for in 2006. Grammer described the character as, "a remarkable sociopathic mind."

Grammer, who attended Julliard, made his Broadway debut in 2010 in the revival of Musical La Cage aux Folles. He received a Tony nomination for his starring role as Georges.
