'A Wrinkle in Time' Trailer Explores Other Worlds

The ambitious project hits theaters March 9.

It's time to take a closer look at Ava DuVernay's A Wrinkle in Time.

The second trailer debuted during Sunday's AMAs, where viewers saw more from the film based on 1963 children's book by Madeleine L'Engle. It stars Storm Reid as Meg Murry, a young girl whose scientist father (Chris Pine) has been missing for years. The cast also includes Oprah Winfrey (Mrs. Which), Reese Witherspoon (Mrs. Whatsit), Zach Galifianakis (The Happy Medium) and Mindy Kaling (Mrs. Who).

The first trailer debuted earlier this year at D23, where Winfrey joked about why she joined the project.

"When Ava told me it is a character who is one of the wisest women in the universe," Winfrey started, to big laughs, "who wouldn't say yes to that?"

A Wrinkle in Time features a script written by Frozen's Jennifer Lee.
