Alfre Woodard Joins DreamWorks' 'Haunted' (Exclusive)

Juan Carlos Fresnadillo is directing the ghost tale based on Henry James' novella 'Turn of the Screw.'

Alfre Woodard is about to get Haunted.

The actress has signed on to appear in DreamWorks Pictures' ghost tale that will be directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later).

The story, written by Chad Hayes & Carey Hayes, is based on Henry James' novella Turn of the Screw. It centers on a young woman who starts to work at a wealthy estate that she soon realizes is haunted. She believes that the children may be possessed and begins to fear for her life. Woodard will play a woman who works at the mansion.

Scott Bernstein, Roy Lee and John Middleton are producing the project.

Woodard’s recent film credits include Mississippi Grind and Captain America: Civil War. She’ll next be seen in the Netflix series Luke Cage and the Netflix film Burning Sands. Plus, she's currently shooting Netflix's upcoming series A Series of Unfortunate Events. She’s repped by ICM Partners, Circle of Confusion and Gochman Law Group.
