'Alita: Battle Angel' Trailer Shows Off a Dangerous Side

The manga adaptation produced by James Cameron arrives in theaters in February.

“Does it bother you… that I’m not completely human?”

The latest trailer for Robert Rodriguez’s Alita: Battle Angel has arrived, showing off the softer side of the anime hero — before teasing just how dangerous she can be, if necessary. In addition to trailing the romance between Alita (Rosa Salazar) and Hugo (Keean Johnson), the new spot for the manga adaptation also shows Alita in action against a number of cyborg enemies, including a glimpse at the Motorball sequence the director has described as the central action scene in the movie.

The screenplay — which adapts the 1990s series Gunnm, or Battle Angel Alita, by Yikito Kishiro — was written by Rodriguez; Laeta Kalogridis; and James Cameron, who produces the feature with Jon Landau. In addition to Salazar and Johnson, Alita stars Christoph Waltz, Jennifer Connelly and Mahershala Ali.

Alita: Battle Angel will be released Feb. 14.
