Allison Williams, Blumhouse Team for Tech Thriller 'M3GAN'

Get Out actor Allison Williams is getting back into business with Blumhouse, the producers of the 2017 Oscar-winning film.

Williams will star and executive produce M3GAN, a tech horror thriller centering on Gemma (Williams), a brilliant roboticist who uses AI to develop a life-like doll that is supposed to serve as a kid's best friend. When Gemma is charged with caring for her orphaned niece, she uses a M3GAN prototype to assist, but her decision has unimaginable consequences.

Akela Cooper, who wrote James Wan's forthcoming film Malignant as well as the upcoming The Nun 2penned the script from a story by Wan, who produces via his Atomic Monster banner alongside Blumhouse's Jason Blum. Housebound filmmaker Gerard Johnstone is directing.

Atomic Monster's Michael Clear will executive produce with Judson Scott overseeing for the company. Blumhouse’s Ryan Turek will exec produce.

Williams rose to prominence on HBO's Girls and last starred in the Netflix thriller The Perfection. She is represented by CAA, Untitled, R&CPMK and Frankfurt, Kurnit, Klein & Selz.
